Tall praise from Uncut's chief pen-wielder John Mulvey

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Uncut Magazine’s John Mulvey back in March.  I’ve enjoyed both his writing for Uncut AND his tremendous support over the past couple of years, and it was truly a pleasure to stand and talk to him for an hour or so after our show opening for Dash Rip Rock at Don Pedro’s in Brooklyn.  Our conversation rapidly bounced from cricket to football (English), from Zeppelin to James Booker, to Neil Young’s obsession with fidelity, and many more things in between…honestly not too different than a late-night hyped-up enthusiastic conversation that I would of had with my old pal Jack Rose, who I first came to John’s attention through because of my musical collaborations with Jack.  A kindred lover of the corners of life’s attic that you can sit and chat with for hours, a real pleasure…

This Is American Music and Goo Goo Cluster proudly present in conjunction w/ Cathead Vodka, Green Olive Media, Captains Dead, and The Law Office Of Sean Courtney a Wednesday SXSW FREE day party at Mean Eyed Cat.

There will be Torchy’s Tacos at 1:00 until we run out. We ordered a good bit, but get there early and stay late. We’ll have snacks and promotional items from our friends at Goo Goo Cluster all day.
